After a year-long endeavor, I am pleased to announce the completion of a significant project—a meticulously crafted typeface resembling the vintage Barbie Mattel lettering.
To our surprise, the decision to mirror the original Barbie Mattel lettering was intentional and driven by a longstanding quest to locate a font that did not formally exist. Despite the absence of a font release by Mattel, the custom lettering utilized for Barbie packaging from 1975 to 1991 served as a foundational reference. Through diligent research and meticulous examination of vintage packaging, I collected images featuring the distinctive lettering. This font is also known as a Barbie Font.
The resulting typeface, while a first attempt, represents a culmination of effort and dedication. It is offered for use in Photoshop, accompanied by downloadable OTF and TTF files. However, it is essential to note that the typeface does not include numbers, glyphs, or additional symbols.
