Jager is a contemporary display font. A lot of people think it is a perfect instrument for making eye-catching titles or texts of short to medium length. Jérémy Schneider came up with this font in 2020 for VJ Type, a famous type foundry.
The start of Jager’s journey was a show of contemporary art crafts at the Musées des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Jérémy Schneider created the first sketches of this type five years before its official launch, thus, he became a true example of perseverance and diligence. The deep counterforms of the letters are similar to the intricate carvings that can be seen in sculptures or chisel work.
The designers made the design by carving a piece of wood with the fine-cut details. The contrary is, the round edges soften its overall appearance and make it friendly and pleasant.
Features
The Jäger Master is almost the same as the original plan. Thus, the majority of the original bold and advanced typefaces are presented. At the same time, the Jäger Classic version changes the shape of the letters’ counters at the tops. Hence, it is a more organic and flexible decision for designers.
